As Vente-Prive has dominated an estimated 80-90% of the French market, its pretty hard to figure out which of the approximately 70 private shopping clubs comes in second place. From a traffic perspective its surely AchatVIP, but looking at revenues it may very well be ShowRoomPrive who has taken the top spot last year.

As JournalduNet reported last Friday (FR/EN), ShowRoomPrive, who went online in October 2006, was able to raise their 2008 revenues from 9 million euro (2007) to 25 million. Close behind are the likes of AchatVIP, BrandAlley and Private Outlet who claim revenues in the range of 20 - 25 million euro.
ShowRoomPrive is targeting revenues of 50 million for 2009.
It is therefore looking quite likely that Brands4Friends, which launched a year after ShowRoomPrive, will have a shot at reaching the European Number 2 spot in 2009 with their planned revenues of 85 million. At the beginning of May they were already able to overtake their previous year figure of 25 million.
BuyVIP might be able to reach the Number 3 position with their target of 70 million euro.
Currently the only party with more ambitious goals is Voyage Prive, which as a travel club doesnt compete in the same arena. Voyage Prive would like to raise their revenues from the 2008 figure of 43 million to 95 million this year. Along with Vente-Prive, they are the only other shopping club which has already reached profitability. Also belonging to the Voyage Prive Group is amongst others BeautePrivee.
